Fixing Congress

The following discussion clip is from the Occupy Wall Street demand discussion list.

Requiring [congressional] bills to treat subjects one at a time is a good rule. However, trying to patch up how congress enacts legislation is not something that can be done one PIECE at a time.

The U.S. Government is falling apart because it was designed for a simple minded, very small population, homogeneous, agricultural society that needed 2 weeks to send a message from one end to the other. Look at my example on under the Democracy tab – plural democracy. In short, I suggest that congress has to be reorganized from a “winner takes all” single goal power based model to a service model whereby the objective of every bill is to address as many citizen views as possible within the constraints of sustaining life and happiness on the planet.

And anticipating critics that think this is impossible, go talk to a systems engineer who designs cities. It’s done ALL the time.
